Vocalist/guitarist Jesse Smith served as the key member of metalcore mainstays Zao from their inception for eight years. He then exited to form GODS. The music's heaviness (if you can go so far as to call it that) lies in the vocals and the emotional delivery that Smith and company seem to give off without even breaking a sweat. Drawing heavily from the likes of modern artists like HIM and legends like Joy Division, GODS plays a brand of dark rock and roll that draws you in and keeps you.
