Regarded as one of the most intense live acts in Texas, THE KIRBY garnered a strong following locally and nationally not only with their performance but also with their musical technicality while doing so. Never finishing a song with the same melody, they progressed musically and compose multiple lines to create intricate melodies. Melding complex math pop with the fire of hardcore and the sincerity of indie rock, they casted a new mold in the face of all that was banal in modern music.
THE KIRBY later changed their name to WIDOWS & ORPHANS.
Such as Cancer is this Life... will be available for free download on January 1st.

“They definitely blend their influences well, with dissonance remaining under control, chunky rhythms making a few appearances amidst layered clean passages with jazzy percussion and forceful basslines, etc.”
-Aversion
“Their discordant riffing and guitar-slinging provides an intense backdrop for the emotive vocals of Michael Foulk.”
